By the 90s -- thanks to the rise of cable -- the networks took things to the next level. Miniseries in the final years of the 20th century often boasted cinematic production values, and featured top-tier acting talent, intricate plots, and lush, immersive settings that rivaled big-screen releases. In addition to the broadcast networks, cable channels like HBO had entered the miniseries game and apparently Stephen King had a clearance sale on his book rights. And that set the stage in the 90s for some amazing TV miniseries. And I have made a list of the very best…my favorite top 10 titles of the decade, along with some honorable mentions.
